IT'S A BOY! Wyatt's First Videos

Little Wyatt made sure that there was no doubt today when went in for the sonogram to identify the gender. He set himself up in a nice little pose with his left leg crossed over his right knee, hands behind his head, and his goodies right in plain view. The first video below is some footage of him moving around. We counted 10 fingers and toes, saw the brain & heart, lots of good ribs & bone structure...it's hard to believe that he is still only 6 ounces in weight & 5 inches long.

The second video is the moment when Kelly and I knew that our first baby was going to be a boy. What an exciting moment.

Friday Night Family Picnic

We decided to pack up a nice little dinner and head a couple blocks up to Balboa Park for an early evening picnic. We had fun but were bad parents and gave Bella a piece of chicken, which allowed us to eat in peace for a little while until the munchkin came back for more, of course. As you can see from the last couple pictures, she was ready for a nap, but was still keeping her bone close.

Wednesday In The Park

We switched from our normal walk thru Balboa Park and instead took Bella down to Little Italy where she could run free at the dog park down there. She was a little anti-social today but we caught some action from her here, with another little dog coming in at the end.

11 Thankful Years

It was 11 years ago today that my dad, while not feeling well walking in the heat of San Antonio, decided to go splash some water on his face at a friend's nearby office, rather than go back to his car to sit in the AC until he felt better.

He didn't know that he was having a heart attack, but that friend's office happened to be a doctor's office, connected underground to Santa Rosa Hospital. Thanks to that fortunate set of events they were able to get him treated quickly and we are now at 11 great years that we have enjoyed since that day.

In celebration of the anniversary, I have written, in no specific order, my list of 11 of my favorite things that my dad, with us, has experienced over these 11 thankful years:

- Living in San Diego.
- Visiting his boot camp location (the old NTC in SD) with Brian & me, when it still looked much like it did in 1958.
- Meeting my wife Kelly and attending our wedding.
- Meeting all of the San Diego friends, the fun times and great stories.
- Going with me aboard his old aircraft carrier (the Constellation) ~ 45 yrs later after he first joined the ship (thanks Nevdog).
- Meeting my brother's wife Laura.
- Seeing UT Football win the National Championship in an amazing comeback.
- All of our Friday lunches -- first at Mimmo's and many more at Tio Leo's.
- Going back to Austin with my brother Brian and I to the UT campus & a football game.
- Meeting Bella and getting quality dogsitting time with her.
- Looking forward to meeting our baby later this year!

Bella At Coronado Beach

Bella had her own little storming the beach in honor of D-Day this weekend. Watch close because she is speedy in this short video.

Baby Ultrasound - June 5, 2009

We went for our second doctor visit on Friday and I recorded some of the action from the ultrasound. The nurse said everything is looking good. In the video you can see the head and spinal cord really well, along with some views of the body. In 2-3 weeks we should be able to tell whether it is a girl or a boy. Enjoy.
