June, It's Been Busy Around Here

We closed on our house on June 20, which happened to be while we were vacationing with Kevin's side of the family in Park City, Utah.  After that happened we could finally take a deep breath and relax!  But all before that there was this...
Wyatt insisted on having a party for his 4 1/2 year old birthday, what where did he get this idea?  He talked about it for a few days and asked what kind of cake he could have and what toys he would receive.  Needless to say, we did not buy into this party idea and I kept telling him we would not be having a party and he would not be receiving any gifts.  Well the night of the 8th around 11 pm, I was telling Kevin I was ready for bed, when he asked what we were going to do for Wyatt's "birthday" tomorrow.  I was thinking oh no, you're right, we should do something he's been waking up every morning for the past few days asking if it's his birthday yet.  So, I made this makeshift banner late at night so he would see it when he came down in the morning.  He loved it and was overjoyed and even got a donut for breakfast to celebrate.  Happy birthday buddy!

On our way to Park City we spent the night in St. George Utah at Nana and Papas.  We woke up Sunday morning to celebrate Father's Day.  I love this guy and can't say enough about what an amazing Father he is, he is always so calm and patient with them and loves to come home from work and wrestle or just play with them.  I'm so grateful for a wonderful husband who is such an awesome Dad.  We love you Kev.  Wyatt was so happy to present him with a book of all the Dad's favorite recipes from his preschool class.

Happy Father's Day to this guy too.  I love you Dad and am so lucky to have such a dependable, hard working, thoughtful, and crazy bed-head Dad in my life.

After a morning of celebrating and a delicious breakfast we headed up to Park City.  Right when we got checked into the hotel we headed out to the adventure park right outside our hotel lobby door, it was so much fun.  Caden and Wyatt hit the inflatable slide, but before they could slide...

...they had to climb this.  Annabelle and Luke were pretty upset that they weren't tall enough to get in with the big boys.

Mimi and Tia took the little guys to the carousel.

...And Luke went again several times with Daddy, the funny thing was, as much as he rode this throughout the week, he always chose the zebra.  Who knew he liked zebras so much?  He cracks me up.

They also loved these little planes.  Luke was really funny on them, he wouldn't turn his head to look at you if you were waving from the sidelines, he would just peer out of the corner of his eye as he came around like he didn't dare take his eye off the sky while he was flying.  We were cracking up.

Wyatt and Caden just chatting it up on the coaster.

Time for a break with Mimi.

Splish splash!

One morning on our way to Hogel Zoo, we noticed the "This is the place monument" across the street, so we decided to stop and check it out.  We walked around and looked at the markers, it was quite spectacular.

Train ride at Hogel Zoo with Mimi and Tia.

I drank from this fountain as a kid, talk about flashbacks.

Had to relive the memory.

One raining day we drove over to the St. Regis in Deer Valley to ride the funicular up to the hotel and check it out.

Great views from the top.

Not everyone was into this family shot.

Exploring around the St. Regis.

We were trying to explore Main Street in Park City but it really started coming down so we ran into the Pizza shop for a hot lunch.

Later that day it actually snowed, I couldn't believe it.  This is also the day the escrow company sent a notary from Salt Lake City to our hotel to sign the papers for the house, poor guy had to drive in the snow.

The kids loved the snow.

Time to warm it up.

The view from our room.

The next day we headed into town.

And hopped aboard the Main Street Trolley.

Kevin ran to Rite Aid to get the kids some hats before we left that morning. I was not prepared for snow, apparently they only had two left, don't the kids look cute in them?

Back at the hotel we rode the Eagle, a mini zipline, Wyatt loved it.

Kevin, Laura, and I then rode up the lift to do the big zipline, I loved it!

Ready to launch!

Wyatt played mini golf with Kevin, then later with Mimi.

One morning we went on a hike up the mountain outside the hotel.  It was gorgeous and peaceful.

Mimi taking a break with the kids.

Riding up the Town Lift to explore the top of the mountain.

Wyatt and I getting off the lift ready to hit the mountain.
In the background is the old silver mine from the late 1800s.

The big guys decided to climb the side of this mountain, of course, the little ones had to join in.

A very old ski lodge.
Park City was a great trip, but it was time to get home to our new house!  Nana and Papa drove back to San Diego with us to help us move into our new place.  My birthday was the day we got home so they watched the kids while we went out to dinner.  Before dinner we stopped by the house and checked out all the work that was done while we were away, the ceiling was painted, the floors were refinished, and the deck railings were added, it looked great.
A view from the front...

...and the back.

Our first Sunday in the new place.  Unfortunately Luke was sick so I stayed home with him while Wyatt and Kev went to church.  Here is our handsome guy ready to go.
