Happy Thanksgiving, Breast Cancer Walk, & Bella Beach Trip

This year Kevin and I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you to all of our friends and family for their support. Thanksgiving dinner was great. We had James and Greg over, plus little Wyatt and Bella, it was a full house for us. We plan on putting on some Christmas music and putting up our Christmas decorations today. I love Christmas time and it should be especially special this year with Wyatt's birth, we can't wait...hurry, hurry don't be late.
The Sunday before Thanksgiving we went up to Balboa Park to meet up with Kelly's friend Lisa and cheer on the 3 Day 60 mile Breast Cancer walkers as they approached their final 2 miles. It was really impressive and Bella got into the celebratory spirit too as the video shows. We also walked back past the Old Globe theater where they have the Grinch tree up for the holiday showings of the play.
Finally we took Bella over to run on Dog Beach in Coronado and get a picture of Kelly, Wyatt, and Bella with the Hotel del in the background. We also put on her Christmas sweater for a walk, she is too adorable. Not a bad little end to the Thanksgiving weekend.

Geisen Pizza Party & Miramar Lake Weekend Nov 14-15

On Sat night we headed down to the Geisens house in East Lake for a pizza party with Glen & Linda, Grant & Robin, and Pat. We had a lot of fun baking and eating some pizza pies in their new brick oven and playing some games on the sport court.

Sunday afternoon we headed out to Miramar Lake for a nice walk around the water with Bella.

Bay Cruise & Little Italy Dinner Weekend - Nov 6-8th

We decided to head out on the San Diego bay for a little dinner cruise on Friday night and it was great. We sailed out to Point Loma, back under the bridge to Coronado, and then returned to the dock. It was 3 hours of great views, good food, fun people-watching, and dancing to some nice tunes as the DJ revolved it.
Saturday night, Chris & Bronwyn came over and we went down to grab some dinner in Little Italy and had fun catching up. Always good to see the old Hartford housemates.

Halloween & Katie/Dan Wedding Weekend

Both Bella and I (Kevin) were able to dress up and enjoy the Halloween festivities. Bella put on her skeleton outfit, although she has outgrown her costume a little from last year. My group had a theme of The Running of the Bulls at work and I wore this great bull costume that my coworker Caroline had found online. We did several runs through the office and had a great time, although it was quick for me to see how out of shape I am when running around with a big costume. We look forward to finding a great costume for little Wyatt next year.

On Sunday, Dia de Los Muertos, Katie and Dan were married at the Leo Carrillo ranch in Carlsbad. It was a beautiful day and ceremony and I snapped a couple of photos during the ceremony. Congrats to you guys!

Dana & Terry's Visit To SD - Oct 16-19th

Dana and Terry came to visit for the weekend and we had a great time seeing some sights and just hanging out relaxing. We had a chance to take them to La Jolla cove and the Wild Animal Park, to see some wildlife and some other nice sights. We were glad they were able to come down one more time before Wyatt was born.

Coastal Trip - Days 7 & 8 Ferndale to Point Arena to San Fran to Home - Oct 2 &3

On Friday, Oct 2nd, we said goodbye to Ferndale and for the first time started driving south, heading down the 1 to Point Arena where we would be staying the last night of our trip. The drive was gorgeous as we saw some great stretches of coastline. We stopped to see the famous Glass Beach in Fort Bragg where years of erosion had smoothed what used to be discarded glass trash into colorful little beach "rocks". From there we headed down thru Mendocino where we had a nice lunch and then into Point Arena where we found our little hideway hotel and saw a fantastic sunset over the ocean. Definitely a great place to spend our last night.

We woke up on Sat in Point Arena and headed over to the tour the lighthouse. Built in 1870, the views were great and it was cool to actually go up into a functioning historic lighthouse. We again started down the 1 for our last couple hours along the shoreline and there was a bike race going on which made the windy roads even a little more interesting. We cut back to the 101, thru Marin county, and then across the Golden Gate into San Fran to catch our flight back home. It was the end of an incredible trip with many great memories, but it is always nice to go back to San Diego, and see Bella who my Dad had been nice enough to dog-sit for the week we were gone. We look forward to another trip in the future to Northern California.
