More Wyatt Week 1 Photos

I wanted to add just a few more photos from Wyatt's first week, mostly with pics of different family members holding the little guy. I also added a little video of Wyatt waking up one morning when we needed to get him up so that we could make sure he ate. After an initial weight loss, he was back up to his birth weight one week after birth, and growing.

Nice Little Sunday With Wyatt - Dec 13th

Here are some fun photos with Wyatt from Sunday, mostly sleeping but also a picture and video of him getting his first bath from Momma. Wyatt had a great Sat and Sun after a rough Friday when it turned he wasn't getting enough to eat and his birth weight had dropped some.

Wyatt's favorite pose -- arms up. "Let me know what you find in there Mommy".

First bath. See the video, I think he enjoyed it a little bit.

Wyatt Day 2 - Going Home -- Dec 10th

Momma, Wyatt, and Daddy woke up on Thurs Dec 10th after a surprisingly restful night at the hospital, excited to be going home if all the tests looked good. We are definitely fortunate to have the medical expertise available to us that we do but for anyone who has checked a baby and mom out of a hospital can tell you, it's a bit like moving down the assembly line at a manufacturing plant. The checkout includes mom's OB/GYN doctor, pediatrician, jaundice test, blood test, hearing test, and birth certificate.

Thankfully everything was good and we headed home about 1pm. Grandparents Dana and Terry were with us and Grandpa James and big sister Bella were waiting for us at the house. Watching Bella with Wyatt was very funny and sweet as she quickly took on a concerned and protective role. Wyatt didn't seem to mind until Bella woke him up once as one picture below shows. It was good to be home with the new addition to our little family.

Heading home - woo hoo!

Bella's first glimpses (and sniffs) of Baby Wyatt.

Got a little close and woke up an unhappy baby Wyatt.

That response made Bella less curious for a little while...

...well, for a little while anyway.

By nightime, our little family was getting all settled in.

What A Day - Wyatt Has Joined Us! Dec 9th

The day that we have been waiting for arrived with the birth of Wyatt Michael Jolly on Dec 9th. I'll add more writing later but it was a wonderful day to say the least. Folks say that you will never forget this day and they are certainly right. Please enjoy the photos and videos below.

These photos are ~5-10 minutes after birth, as he rested on Mom's chest.

He gave us a great look at his beautiful round face and was definitely curious about his big new world.

After some good skin-to-skin contact with Mom, he was moved over to be weighed, measured, and generally checked out, with everything looking good.

After a couple hours, mom and baby were moved up to the recovery room. He was placed in his bassinet and wrapped up like a baby burrito. Mmmm, somebody say burrito...

Grabbing Momma's finger.
Daddy changing the diaper, not too bad for a beginner.

You really have to get in there to make sure you get it. Of course this means that Wyatt got Daddy for the first time later in the day with a little tinkle.

Grandma Dana and Grandpa Terry drove down to see and love on baby Wyatt, their 5th of five great grandchild.
A quick family photo (Bella, we will get you in the photos a little later).
Grandpa James holding his first grandchild, pretty cool.

Three generations of Jollys, aka OOMJ, OMJ, & now WMJ.
Aunt Monica also came by to hold the little guy.

Videos from ~ 5-10 min after birth. Truly unbelievable that so soon after being in Momma's belly that here is this fully functioning, healthy little person. Thanks so much to Dr. Goldstein, Nurse Nancy, Nurse Jennifer, Nurse Ellen, Nurse Kathryn, and all the wonderful people at Mary Birch Sharp Hospital who helped Momma, Daddy, and Wyatt have a great experience and first day.
