These Boots Are Made For Walking

Wyatt has been getting into everything lately, including Kevin's closet.  I caught him here with one of Kevin's boots on, so I went ahead and helped him with the other one.  Isn't he just too cute?

Playtime, New and Old

Wyatt is so creative and has found so many things around the house that interest him, including Bella.  Here are a couple of videos of him playing by himself or with Bella Bean.

And here are just some still shots of him on a little toy at the mall in Carlsbad and on the swings at the park.

Celebrating At The Neubergs

Last weekend we headed over to Jusitn and Jamie's beautiful new home to celebrate Justin's birthday.  It was fun to get together with everyone and hang out with all the kids.  Here is a picture taken from their back yard.  Wyatt is more interested in Mike than the camera.

New PJs

Wyatt has gotten so big he is growing out of his 12 month clothes.  I got him some new PJs from Old Navy and they are hilarious.

Addition To The Ohio Adventure

I was just out to lunch today with Monica and she reminded me I have to add something to the blog that happened on the airplane ride to Cleveland.  This flight was Wyatt's first long flight (more than 1 hour), on a whole it went well, but there was a minor disaster that occurred in flight.  Kevin and I were passing Wyatt back and forth between us, when we smelled something awfully stinky.  Wyatt had pooped his pants.  Normally not too big a deal, but if you know Wyatt and the length of his crack, you know if you don't change it quickly, it will squish out the top of his diaper.  So we go to change him at the back of the plane, because we are sitting closer to that bathroom, but there is no changing table in that restroom, the flight attendant tells us there is only one at the front.  Changing Wyatt in flight is probably going to be a two man job so we both head to the front of the airplane to change him.  Ever since 9/11 you cannot form a line at the front restroom, so trying to actually beat everyone to the front of the plane to the restroom is a challenge and takes some time, all of the sudden it looks like everyone up front has to use the bathroom, finally we form a line about the tenth row and wait.  By the grace of God it's finally our turn and there is no way both of us can fit in that tiny bathroom with the changing table down.  Kevin goes into the bathroom with Wyatt to try and change him while I wait in the hall trying to pass him the wipes as he needs them, when the flight attendant tells me I have to sit down.  So poor Kevin is left by himself to finish the job, thanks a lot Bin Laden!  Like a hero he does it and brings back one happy baby to our seats.

Wyatt's First Illness

On Monday I took Wyatt to the doctor because he had a developing rash across his chest the past couple of days and over the weekend it moved to his arms.  I thought it may be eczema or an allergic reaction.  Sure enough the doctor said it was eczema.  It's not too big a deal I just put lotion on him like a mad woman and hydrocortisone cream twice a day.  It really is looking a lot better.  I thought I would just post this because it really is his first illness and as a mom that's noteworthy.

Camping...Well Sort Of

Ah, the great outdoors.  We decided to take the family up to Mt. Laguna for the day.  We were originally planning on staying the night, putting up the tent, and doing the whole thing right, but then decided maybe that wasn't such a good idea with the little guy.  It would suck to have to pack everything up at 2 am.  So, we just went camping for the day.

Hi everyone, I'm in the mountains for the first time in my life!

Here are the boys getting ready for a hike, notice how excited Wyatt is.

Family photo at the top of the small hike we did, by now Wyatt is asleep and Bella is trying to hide in the shade somewhere.

Getting ready to head down the trail, Kevin and I switched.  As you can see now, Wyatt is awake and what you can't see is, Kevin is holding Bella.  I know it's ridiculous, but she is so lazy, she wouldn't finish the hike, it was too long (30 minutes) and too hot (75 F).

For some reason he loved to press his face against the mesh in the pack and play.  Hey there lip injections.

Wyatt loved exploring the outdoors, after letting him man handle this plant I realized it looks very similar to poison oak...bad mommy.

This was the final straw before we decided we were never taking Bella camping again.  We were on a walk around the campground and I decided to have Kevin pose with Wyatt on this log.  Right when I snapped the photo, Bella jerked her leash and the camera right out of my hands.  The camera broke, what a disaster.

Here is a video of Wyatt playing in the pack and play.  He loved the whole experience, I'm looking forward to going again, this time without Bella!

Boot Scootin' Boogie-August 6

Here is a little video of Wyatt doing his version of crawling.  Whatever it is, he can get around quick!

Big Boy Car Seat

Look out world, here I come!  Wyatt has outgrown his baby car seat, which by the way, I thought was supposed to last a year.  Here he is for the first time in his big boy seat.  He really likes it because it sits him up more and he can look out the windows.  In a few more months I'll be able to turn it around so he can ride forward facing, then I think he will really enjoy it.  Thank goodness, car rides have been miserable lately, hopefully that is all in the past.

Cleveland, Ohio Baby!

We headed to Cleveland for the weekend to attend my friend Emily's wedding. Mimi and Tia drove over from Philly to see us.  As you can see, both Mimi and Wyatt were very excited to see each other!

We ate a delicious dinner the first night at Bahama Breeze and Tia and Kevin enjoyed some very fancy margaritas.

While I was busy with all the wedding activities, everyone went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Friday.  They had such a great time, they went back again on Saturday!

(Kevin chiming in a little on the blog...respect the Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet shirt at the RnR HOF.  That album meant Rock n Roll to a 7th grade kid with new contacts, feathered butt-cut hair, and a dream back in '86, and Jon Bon Jovi+ has been delivering magic for the past 25 years.  Bon Jovi truly has seen a million faces and rocked them all, hopefully the Hall will not pass them over again this year.)

With all the excitement of seeing Mimi and Tia and the museum, Wyatt was over taking pictures.  In this picture he looks like he just can't take anymore of the camera.

Back at the hotel Mimi and Wyatt dipped their feet in the pool.

I was so busy with the wedding, I just got to see Wyatt at pitstops in between activities.  Here I am trying to get some love before heading off to the rehearsal.

Kevin getting ready for the wedding.  (Hi, this is Kevin typing again, Kelly has done a great job taking over the blog but I will try to add my some value here and there.  On this photo, first of all that is definitely a leg kick there with a nice right hand air guitar, doubly impressive because we believe he is a southpaw.  Second, for all my fellow Tommy Boy fans, does this tie make me look fat, no my face does.)

The wedding took place at this beautiful historic home called the Bolton House.

We loved the food, especially these delicious little mini strawberry shakes.

My baby and I danced the night away.

We had a blast in Cleveland and it was great to see Mimi and Tia.  Finally the busy little guy passes out!
