Memorial Day Weekend & More-May 28-31

What a weekend full of fun in the sun...finally I think the sun is here to stay. Memorial Day in Old Town was a blast, we tried a new place Cafe New Orleans, it was delicious, I ordered the red beans and rice and Kevin had some jambalaya. Wyatt had his first taste of beans, he loved them too.
Our friend gave Wyatt these hilarious jean diapers, they are so cute, what a little "Wrangler"!

This weekend we did some swinging, Wyatt's first...as you can see from the picture he was not ready to get out of there. As I got more confidence in pushing him a little harder, he held on for dear life with a death grip, that kid was not scared.

Out to dinner at a new place near our house, Barrio Star. Love Wyatt's new clip on high chair, works great so he can sit at the table with us.

Saturday at the beach, we love the pop up sun tent.

Kevin takes out that old yucky garbage disposal and I paint the cabinet and put vinyl tiles down. It looks great, so much more storage in the kitchen now. Everytime we do a project we ask ourselves "why didn't we do this sooner". Hard work really does pay off!

Finished space, we just added a rolling cart in there and this weekend Kevin is ready to put a door on.

Wild Weekend-May 22-23

This past weekend was full of adventure. We decided a few weeks ago that our queen size bed was just too small, lately Bella has taken to sleeping horizontally. We had our king bed stored at Kevin's dad's house and decided to make the switch. Kevin rented a cargo van and we moved the queen bed to Kevin's dad's and the king to ours. That one hour of moving reminded me just how much I hate moving! But oh how comfy that giant king bed is, loving it.

We also went to the Wild Animal Park with Wyatt for the first time.

Wyatt, dressed in camo as a bear cub and me by some beautiful wildflowers at the Wild Animal Park.
Kevin hanging out with "our little baby bird".

At first I thought this lion was a fake, but we soon realized he was real, just hanging out on the top of this prop SUV for some sun...maybe Bella is related.

Em's Bachelorette Party, With or Without the Bride

I was so excited for this past weekend. It was my good friend Emily's bachelorette party. We planned to go to a Tom Petty concert in Dallas, which was cancelled, bummer. But we decided to still go to Dallas because we had all booked our flights and had the hotel and everything. Plus it was an added bonus for me, I was going to see my new nephew Caden. Monica and I boarded the flight and headed for Dallas Friday morning. Mid air the pilot said the Dallas airport is closed due to weather we will be diverted to El Paso. El Paso? Really? Well that really sucked, it's practically Mexico, and not a part of Mexico you want to visit. We ended up spending the night in El Sucko and flew back to San Diego on Saturday morning. None of the other girls flights had left before the airport was closed so they were all good, needless to say the weekend was cancelled. But Monica and I weren't ready to call it quits, I needed a weekend away, it was my first since Wyatt was born. So, I called Kevin and he hooked us up with a night at the Hard Rock. We lounged poolside, ate some delicious food, and had a night of dancing. What a party, wish the bride was there!

Bubbles & More-May 13

I decided to take Wyatt and Bella out front and blow some bubbles. Bella was definately more interested in the bubbles than Wyatt, but he did enjoy watching Bella run around and pop the bubbles, now that was funny!
Dinner time is still a chore sometimes. He's a bit of a picky eater, some days he loves his food, other not...in the photo he's mad dogging me because he is over the carrots, plus I'm pretty sure he is pooping.

Wyatt and His Food

Ok this guy loves sweet potatoes and thinks pears are ok. I can get away mixing both of them with rice cereal. Check out his new high chair, sitting like a big boy! His buzz cut is even growing out a bit. You can't see it in this picture, but he does have two bottom teeth, one is really out there and one is just barely coming in.

SeaWorld-May 11

Wyatt and I went to SeaWorld with Danny and her son Michael, who is just 1 month younger than Wyatt. We had such a great time. They especially like the Killer Whale tank and the Polar Bear cave with the ice wall. Wyatt was so fascinated by the wall he almost got his tongue stuck to it "Christmas Story" style. I think these two are going to be good friends.

Second Verse Same As the First, Night 5

Last night was pretty much a repeat of Friday night. I am excited about the progress the little guy has made over the week. I think we will slowly but surely get there. We had a great Mother's Day by spending some time at the park and picking up some cupcakes, so delicious. Kevin was awesome and got me three cards, one from Bella, one from Wyatt, and one from him, so thoughtful. I love my little family.

Victory, I Can Almost Taste It, Night 4

Wyatt slept from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. I got up and gave him his pacifier, he went right back to sleep and slept until 4:45, when Kevin got up and gave him his pacifier again. He literally cried for 1 minute then went to sleep until 6:30. So close, we're so close. What a great Mother's Day present.

It Continues, Night 3

He did much better last night. Only woke up at 4:00 a.m. and fussed for about 20 minutes then went to sleep until 6:00 a.m., so awesome! Wyatt also got a new high chair today and sat in it like a big boy while he ate his rice cereal mixed with pears, he still prefers sweet potatoes.

The Not So Dreaded Cry-Out, Night 2

Well last night lasted a little longer 3:45 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., but he didn't really cry too much, just fussed intermittently and finally went to sleep. He slept until 6:00 a.m. I think tonight should be better, and if I dare say we may have an excellent weekend on our hands.

The Dreaded Cry-Out, Night 1

For the past couple of months Wyatt has been waking up at 1:30 a.m., 3:30 a.m., and 5:30 a.m. Each time I have been feeding him and changing his diaper. It hasn't been until the past couple of weeks that I've realized he is barely eating and his diaper doesn't need to be changed so much. So with my strength gathered from friends and family who have done the deed, I summoned all I had to experiment last night. He went to bed at 8:00 p.m., then woke around 1:30 a.m., I just gave him his pacifier and he went right back to sleep. He then woke at 3:15 a.m., I tried to give him his pacifier, he wouldn't have it. He cried from 3:15 a.m. to 3:45 a.m. Honestly I expected worse from him. I just kept rubbing his belly, trying to give him the pacifier, but never picked him up. He then slept until 5:30 a.m. when I fed him. It was great. Let's see tonight if it goes easier. Maybe with some lucky this little guy will be sleeping through the night by the end of the week!

The Adventures of Wyatt

Well we've tried rice cereal, hated it. Oatmeal, hated it. So I decided to go for some fruit after every time I pulled out his spoon and he saw it he literally gagged. Pears on Saturday, loved them. Sweet potatoes today, loved them. And tonight for the piece de resistance, I'm going to mix the rice cereal with the sweet potatoes...more to come. I was getting sick of Wyatt's scraggly hair this weekend, he's lost so much of his baby hair he's looking like he does a come over with a few long strands. Kevin has taken to calling him "Costanza". So I took Kevin's clippers and buzzed him, I love it, so much better. Now he looks like his uncle Andy.

Travelling-April 29-May 2

We made the road trip to St. George, UT for Kim's baby shower. Wyatt did well on the way down, slept most of the time except for the last hour. By the time we arrived at Kim's, which was 1:30 a.m., he decided it was playtime, we were up until 3:30 a.m.! The next day we pulled ourselves out of bed and headed to my mom's. My mom watched Wyatt for the night while Kevin and I went to a nice dinner and spent the night at the Green Valley resort for our two year anniversary. It was my first night away from the little guy. It was so nice to sleep in...and not be woken up in the middle of the night. Thanks mom, what an anniversary present! On Saturday, Wyatt and I went to Kim's baby shower and Kevin went shooting with Garrett, my dad, and Andy, they loved it. After we all went to Grandma Jean's to see the rest of the family, Wyatt got to meet more cousins. Unfortunately Grandma was in the hospital. We decided to head back to SD really early in the morning on Sunday to beat the traffic, what a good idea:) Wyatt slept like a baby (ha ha) and it was a quick trip home. It was so nice to see everyone, but it's always nice to come home, especially to good weather.

Grant & Robins Wedding Weekend-April 23-April 25

We had a really fun weekend participating in all of the activities for Grant and Robin's wedding. Lots of Kevin's friends were in town for the big event. And Carlee was here, which was great for everyone, because Wyatt got to spend some quality time with "Mimi" while Kevin and I hit the town. Unfortunately, we do not have pictures from the actual wedding because the camera broke the night before...oops! We went bowling on Thursday, then the Hard Rock and after to Basic on Friday. Kevin and I didn't want to walk the distance so we got a pedicab, hilarious. Then the wedding was on Saturday with the reception at Tom Ham's.
