Thanksgiving Travels

We travelled to St. George to visit with family over the Thanksgiving week.  Wyatt and I flew into St. George on Monday and Kevin joined us Tuesday night.

We got up and went to Zions Wednesday morning, it was a little chilly at first, but beautiful.  We did one of the few hikes you can do with a stroller, Emerald Pools.

There was some water and A LOT of mud!

After the hike Wyatt ran around the lawn outside the lodge.

Get the wiggles out before the drive back to Nana's.

The girls getting ready to start cooking on turkey day.

We played at the park a few times.

That poor dinosaur.

Wyatt was able to play a lot with his cousin Noah...

and Cooper.

Before we left on Saturday we all went to the jump house, Jumping Jacks.  We're glad we got to see Abby and Brody before we left, but I couldn't get any pictures of them because they were running around too fast!

Peek-a-boo Cooper.

Noah, Kim, Jenny, and Eric all decided to go down a slide at once, man they were moving fast.

Last slide before we take off.  Doesn't Wyatt look exhausted?  I'm sure Kevin was too, poor guy had to climb around all morning with him.  Come to find out, he had a broken bone the whole time (don't ask, Halloween injury).  He went to the doctor the Monday after we got back and came home with a cast.

We were lucky enough to have plenty of time with family and beautiful weather Thanksgiving week.

Happy Thanksgiving

Grateful...I certainly am, as I sit here stuffed to the gills. I have so much to be thankful for, all of my wonderful family and friends, our new home we are about to move in, health, and definitely happiness. This year I am especially thankful for babies, I am so in love with my little Wyatt and now can't wait to meet the new little guy. It was a tough road this year with the baby, but now we can celebrate because he is coming...kicking the whole way. I thank God for all his blessings and giving Kevin and I the chance to raise these little ones. Happy Thanksgiving.

Risky Business

Caught Wyatt doing a little Risky Business after church last week.  Lately he is all about no pants.

Halloween and Disney Earlier This Week

We went to Seaport Village on the Saturday before Halloween for some trick or treating.  Here we are
Mickey and Spider-Head.

Kevin took Wyatt on the never ending carousal ride.  Seriously the ride went on forever, poor little Mickey wanted off 5 minutes into it.  I was getting dizzy just watching them!

Our walk back to the car after trick or treating, he loved the suckers.

On Monday, Kevin's work had a Halloween party.  His group dressed up as club goers from the Jersey Shore.  I think the spray tan Kevin used is still staining our sheets...so gross.

Wyatt loved trick or treating at all the offices and seeing Daddy dressed up.

They turned their area into a club and even had a party bus made from some cubicles.

This week we had a little mini vacation to Disneyland.  Wyatt and I went up on Tuesday after his nap and Kevin came up after work.  We stayed the night and all got up for some more fun on the next day.
Luckily for us the park was empty.  Although Wyatt didn't actually want to ride the tea cups, he did want to play in one.

Having fun checking out all the Christmas decorations.

Wyatt and Daddy waiting for the park to open.

Riding in the monster taxi outside of Monsters Inc.

He really loved Disney Junior Live On Stage, with all his favorite characters performing.

Hanging out in Bug's Land, another favorite.

Going Cold Turkey

For about the past month Wyatt has been REALLY attached to his pacifier. I decided to snip the ends of some of his pacifiers so he wouldn't find it satisfying to suck anymore. That worked for a few days except I made the mistake of keeping a couple of "good" ones for nap and bedtime. Of course he knew these were around and insisted on them all the time, it was getting hard to hide them. And since I decided to try this little maneuver, once he found a functional one, he would absolutely not let it go, so much so that he developed a sore on his lips. Both Kevin and I thought it was getting out of hand. Yesterday we went cold turkey. After consulting with Kim and of course the Internet, yesterday, I dunked each pacifier in hot sauce and set them out. Immediately upon putting one in his mouth he said "yucky" and wanted to throw it in the trash. This went on through all the pacifiers and he threw them all out. I showed him I was taking out the trash and the "yuckys" were gone. Yesterday was a really rough day especially at nap time and bedtime, I had to keep reminding him he threw them away. Today has been a bit easier so far, my hope is by the end of the week, our house will be pacifier free!

Happiness

I was reading some random quotes, when I came across this one and fell in love.  I hope I'm able to teach my kids this.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.
