Slip & Slide

Kicking it old school.
We had a bunch of friends over for a brunch party today, it was so chaotic though with all the kids I didn't have time to take pictures while everyone was here, so here is the aftermath.
Scooping out water from the slide.

Slippin and Slidin after his nap in his undies.

There were piles of sand all throughout the yard, which little rascal did this?

The method of delivery, man I shouldn't have gotten Wtyatt that big shovel.

He got his undies all wet so he took them off and went commando.

Father's Day Weekend

First of all I can't believe we didn't take any pictures on Father's Day, bummer.  Second of all I wanted to say what an amazing father Kevin is and how much Wyatt adores him, I'm sure Luke feels the same, if only he could express himself!  I'm thankful for him and the incredible, loving example he sets for his boys.  If the saying is true "actions speak louder than words", both Wyatt and Luke are going to grow up to become kind, thoughtful, generous, intelligent, and loving men and for that I am eternally greatful.

This weekend Kevin was out of commission due to his minor surgery.  So I tried to keep the boys entertained for most of Saturday and Sunday so he could recover.  By the end of the weekend Wyatt was just itching to wrestle with his Daddy.
Saturday...
I took the boys over to Birch Aquarium for the morning, Wyatt loved the whale fountain.

This octopus was pretty awesome, I've never seen one move so much.

Three story tank!

Hanging outside at the tidepools, playing with the fake starfish when there are real ones right behind him just waiting to be touched, kids are weird.

Sunday...
We all went to church then Kevin picked up his dad to come hangout for the afternoon.  I was able to call my dad on the phone and wish him a Happy Father's Day.  It's these kind of days when I really miss being around him and think about what a great father he was to me and what an example he continues to set for me.  I strive to match his character, I love you Dad.

Summertime Fun

I've been slacking on keeping updated with the blog, so here is a big catch up post with what we've been doing the past few weeks.

Kevin caught a little video of Luke smiling.

Wyatt's favorite friend, Benjamin, came over one day for a play date.  Luke was able to get in the mix, both boys tried to upstage each other trying to entertain him.

It was such a warm day, we took them out to play in the pool for a little bit.  They took turns spraying each other with the dragon, man they loved it.
On Memorial Day we went down to Old Town and stopped by the Mormon Battalion.  It was the first time Kevin has been there, we all had a great time.

Crossing the plains...

and panning for gold, what a day!

My family came out to visit for Luke's baby blessing.  When they first arrived my dad sat down with Luke and he immediately smiled, that is rare for Luke.  My dad continued to entertain him for the weekend, Luke must like funny faces, he loves his Papa, ha ha.

Kim and Cooper on Elmo's Flying Fish at Sea World, Wyatt backed out at the last minute.

Cooper and Wyatt playing in the tunnels.

Sticking our hands in FREEZING water to grab a starfish for the boys to touch, oh the sacrifices moms make for their kids.

Seriously, Kim and I did not plan our outfits.

Cooper was worn out, he fell asleep with a churro in his hand, hilarious.

Wyatt checking out the penguins.

I'm not sure what their staring at here, hopefully it's not dog poop.  I love how kids hangout, seriously how do they sit like that?

Picture time.  After church I made everyone get pictures before we all changed.  My dad gave a beautiful, spiritual, and loving blessing for Luke.  I was really touched.

Hanging out for some lunch.

Wyatt "helping" me in the kitchen.  He wanted to "fold" the towels, by that he means get them out of the drawers and unfold them and line them up on the kitchen floor.

Luke enjoying some outdoor time while Wyatt runs wild in the backyard.

This is a great story.  Every Friday morning is a big deal around our house because it is trash pickup day and every other Friday is a really special day because it's refuse day, where the guy rides on the back of the truck and has to jump off it to grab the yard clippings.  Wyatt likes to run outside and watch the guy close up.  He has gotten a high-five before, but this past Friday the guy gave him a sticker, he went nuts.  I think this was the most excited I've seen him in awhile.  I wish I had the camera out there, he was so proud.  The thing I think I like most about it is that, they recognize how much kids love their job and have actually had stickers made, wow, that is awesome.

Luke is very much like Wyatt was in that he does not like to be carried facing inward.  He loves to look around, so I haven't used the wrap too much because I don't feel comfortable having him face out when he can't hold his head up.  But now he has strong neck control and I've been putting him in facing out.  His new favorite position, I like to call it Buddhist hold.

Kelly took matters into her own hands regarding Wyatt's hair and his distaste for someone else touching his glorious mane.  The result I think is great, particularly the natural spike/feaux-hawk that came as a result.  The only downside, and I believe other parents can relate, is that sometimes a new haircut makes them seem like they are growing up literally before our eyes.
