A Trip To Palm Springs

While Mimi and Tia were visiting we decided to take a trip to Palm Springs.  They have a timeshare and we were able to trade it in for a place there.  We have done this before with them, but never stayed at the place that we did, we loved this new place, it felt much more like a home, than a hotel.  The place was called IntervalWest Palm Desert.  We went up without Kevin from Tuesday through Friday, because he was in Chicago for work.  He joined us on the morning of Friday the 12th, his birthday.  Mimi, Tia, and the kids stayed and played until the kids were ready to crash for naps.  Then they took the kids home and we had the place all to ourselves for the weekend, what a great birthday treat!
Enjoying a snack from the outdoor eating area.

Luke's first popsicle, he loved it!

There were some crazy flying insects there and Wyatt would find dead ones on the grounds and in the pool, so of course, being the boy that he is, he started a bug collection.

The bee and the "big, huge, giant, fly" fight regularly.  He enjoying "flying them around" and crashing into each other, usually the fly wins.

The Desert Springs Marriott hotel was across the street, so we'd make daily trips over there to explore, they have some wonderful tropical birds in the lobby.  One night we ran into the keeper and he showed Wyatt where his favorite parrot, Cowboy, sleeps, he also gave him one of his feathers.  That is a face of pure joy, he loves that feather.

Yay, Daddy's here!

Some guy was leaving and gave us his pool floats, the boys loved them.

Daddy's birthday cake.

" More for me Daddy, I really like carrot cake."

We visited the zoo one day, more than the animals, they liked the electric trains.

"It's hot Mom, take me home!"

This place had an outdoor shower, it was so fun, and by the way liberating.

After the kids left we went bowling for Kevin's birthday.  Look at that turkey he got.  He smoked me!

Disco Bowl

Birthday dinner, my baby loves his Mexican.

Saturday morning we decided to go ride some ATVs.  The place we went was awesome, at any moment I thought we might be abducted and forced to live in the underground bunkers probably built for A bomb testing.  Here's our first stop on the very unofficial safety instructions, "here stay in here and watch this video".  Once the video was over we wandered out and there was a guy inside a cargo container handing out helmets, we got our helmet, signed a release, and were off to ride.  My kind of operation.

Getting ready to roll.

Hanging out at the hotel one afternoon.

Our last night out, a view from our balcony.
