Holiday Hazards

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we put up our Christmas Decorations already!  Our Halloween stuff was away for a day, I put up Thanksgiving decor and that was up for about a week, then I went straight into Christmas.  I figured since we will be in Texas starting the second week of December, I wanted to have time to enjoy the holiday spirit in our home.  So there it is, I've even been playing Christmas music too!
The Fall wreath, Wyatt and I made with his nature treasures, and my new skill of crocheting.  It has since been converted to a Christmas yarn wreath.

Our Thanksgiving tree, this one is still hanging with all the Christmas decor around it.  A few things Wyatt is thankful for this year:
deer, seals, Luke, cartoons, and kids.

A little football, I little putting up the tree.

Look at him go, the light pro!

Cheese, note the hair, one of the last photos we have of his very unmanageable hair.  He liked to put the bells into his snack trap.

Wyatt helping with the garland.

Our fun little tree.

...and this is why we call Luke Wreck it Ralph, he's into everything.  I put all the breakables up really high, or so I thought.  On a side note, Wyatt helped me determine what ornaments were fragile by banging them on the ground, thanks buddy.  Wyatt has never once broken an ornament, today alone Luke happened to break three.  He also decided to climb out of his crib for the first time.  I put him in there like always for nap, he usually naps really well, like 2-3 hours.  Well today he was fussing for about a half hour, then I didn't hear anything, so I walked by to check and I heard him playing, his toys are across the room!  I thought no way he's out, I didn't even hear a fall, but sure enough the next thing I hear are the pitter patter of feet.  When I opened the door, he smiled and pointed to his crib and said, "out".  Oh no, he's too young for a bed.

Some of my favorite ornaments, this one just because, he's cute.  I got him when I was single living in Carlsbad with my little table Christmas tree, he was one of a few ornaments.
The little penguins were a gift from my mom the first Christmas Kevin and I were married, I love them, not for the reasons you would think.  They make me laugh because along with the penguins in the package of gifts sent from my mom were some disturbing granny underwear.  Kevin and I were opening the presents together and he was like, "what the heck are these?"  Well apparently she thought they were the matching bottoms to a sleep tank top she got me, let me just say they were not!

Wyatt and Luke's hand prints from last year...

This one is from a ski trip with my girlfriends, Monica and Emily...

We collect ornaments from all the places we've been, the otter is from Monterey Bay, when we were on our babymoon with Wyatt, the little lizard is Jerome AZ, our family vacation to Sedona, and the bell with the swallows is from San Juan Capistrano, another family beach vacation.  I love unpacking them every year, it  brings back a flood of fun memories.  It has been one of my favorite traditions.

  1. Kelly, all your ornaments brought back a flood of memories for myself. I see a Mexican red wooded bell ornament we got together at Sea World. I enjoy the non-traditional ornaments mixed in the traditional. I loved our vacations together as a family too. I hoping for next year we can all get together and vacation again!

  2. I just realized Kevin has his own tradition going on . . . . 2 different football games going on at the same time. Love you, Kevin!
