Nice Little Saturday

We spent last Saturday at the beach, what a fun day.  It was Luke's first trip actually spending some time sunbathing, not just hanging out in his stroller while I walk!
Here's the big man!

Checking out the waves.

Snack time, he was a snacking fool that day.

Look at these little piggies, love them.

At first he was a little hesitant to get in the water, it's still pretty cold.

As you can see, that did not last long.

.
Here's a little video of Luke after getting all cleaned up, he's such a happy baby.

Fun at work

Thankfully I really enjoy what I do, but particularly when we have our bi-annual "fun day" with my teams.  This time we spent a nice little Friday afternoon at Mission Bay playing team-building games, building sand castles, and eating Phil's BBQ.  Good times for sure.

Our fantastic sand castle.

The team on a lovely San Diego afternoon.

Kevin Goes To The Big Apple

This past weekend Kevin headed to New York for a friend's wedding.  Thankfully Nana and Papa arrived to help me with the boys.  Unfortunately Kevin took the camera with him to New York so I have no pictures from their visit.  We had a great time hanging out at the zoo, playing around the house, and visiting Old Town.  As you can tell from some of these pictures Kevin had a great time too.

Spending time at the best park in the world...

Hanging out with old friends...

Enjoying a roof top wedding...

Here's a little video of me trying to get Luke to dance.  He is fascinated by the camera in his face so it's hard to film him, plus he still can't hold himself up so I have one hand on him trying to balance him while filming with the other.  That being said, he is too adorable when he smiles.

Luke's 3 Months Old, Let's Celebrate With a Bang

Little, or should I say not so little Luke, turned 3 months old yesterday.  He now weighs 16 lbs. and 5 1/2 oz.  What a chunk!  We decided to weigh Wyatt too, he came in at a whopping 32 lbs. 7 oz.  He only gained 2 oz. in 5 weeks, that boy needs to eat.

Papa James found this guitar for Wyatt in a little shop, it's great now we can both play together.

We spent 4th of July today at the Old Town State Park, for the third year in a row.  We have such a great time there, eating Mexican (is there a better way to celebrate our nations independence, ha ha), watching the parade, riding in the horse drawn wagon, and exploring all the shops.

We actually wore the little guy out, he passed out for 15 minutes on the ride home, which unfortunately meant he decided not to take a nap when we got home.

After we got home from Old Town, Wyatt played with Kevin in the backyard running through the sprinklers, they had a great time.

Luke Smiling and Wyatt Playing

Wyatt playing with his train set in an unconventional way, but definately a Wyatt way, he LOVES to line things up.

Here is another day, same train set, did I mention he loves trains?

Everytime I try to get Luke to smile on camera it does not work out, he is too fascinated by the camera to relax.  Here is a video of me working my magic trying to get a grin.

... Finally a big grin.

Not so smiley!

Tummy time.  Luke has been rolling over from his tummy to back for a few weeks, but for the first time on June 29, he rolled from his back onto his belly.  Here he is getting pointers from Wyatt.

Slip & Slide

Kicking it old school.
We had a bunch of friends over for a brunch party today, it was so chaotic though with all the kids I didn't have time to take pictures while everyone was here, so here is the aftermath.
Scooping out water from the slide.

Slippin and Slidin after his nap in his undies.

There were piles of sand all throughout the yard, which little rascal did this?

The method of delivery, man I shouldn't have gotten Wtyatt that big shovel.

He got his undies all wet so he took them off and went commando.

Father's Day Weekend

First of all I can't believe we didn't take any pictures on Father's Day, bummer.  Second of all I wanted to say what an amazing father Kevin is and how much Wyatt adores him, I'm sure Luke feels the same, if only he could express himself!  I'm thankful for him and the incredible, loving example he sets for his boys.  If the saying is true "actions speak louder than words", both Wyatt and Luke are going to grow up to become kind, thoughtful, generous, intelligent, and loving men and for that I am eternally greatful.

This weekend Kevin was out of commission due to his minor surgery.  So I tried to keep the boys entertained for most of Saturday and Sunday so he could recover.  By the end of the weekend Wyatt was just itching to wrestle with his Daddy.
Saturday...
I took the boys over to Birch Aquarium for the morning, Wyatt loved the whale fountain.

This octopus was pretty awesome, I've never seen one move so much.

Three story tank!

Hanging outside at the tidepools, playing with the fake starfish when there are real ones right behind him just waiting to be touched, kids are weird.

Sunday...
We all went to church then Kevin picked up his dad to come hangout for the afternoon.  I was able to call my dad on the phone and wish him a Happy Father's Day.  It's these kind of days when I really miss being around him and think about what a great father he was to me and what an example he continues to set for me.  I strive to match his character, I love you Dad.
