Summer Catch Up

With the move everything else was put on the back burner, including the blog.  We finally located the camera cord after unpacking most of the boxes and surprise it wasn't in a box, it was in Kevin's computer bag, that's always the way it is right?  Now I can download photos and catch up on everything.

Here are some pictures before the move when my mom came out to visit while Kevin was in Detroit for work.  There was a lot of bug collecting going on by Nana and Wyatt.  This mostly occurred in the sand pit.

One morning my mom and I took advantage of Wyatt being in preschool and decided to take the bikes to Coronado for a ride.  Luke loved exploring the Hotel Del grounds.

Making his way to the beach...

...a few stumbles along the way.

He accepts a helping hand from Nana.

After Kevin got home, thanks to Nana, we were able to have a temple date.  It was Kevin's first time to the temple.  We really had a great night.

Lately the boys love being dragged around on a blanket, Luke just chills, and Wyatt gets a death grip on the edge as we drag them around.

Summer beach love.

"Bury me Mom, but just my legs, otherwise that'd be scary."

Luke's M.O.  Mr. Chill.

Two peas in a pod.

My Young Womens group from church participated in Color Me Rad, it was a good time.

Kevin got asked to speak at Stake Conference and did an amazing job, he really is such a talented public speaker.  Papa Kay and Grandma Dawna made the drive from Barstow to come listen.

Trying to wrangle the kids for a family photo after church is difficult.

My two snuggle dudes hanging out relaxing.

Luke is such a lover, this little video is typical Luke, just wants to get close and snuggle.

The playground at the new house is a big hit...

...Even with Mimi!  Mimi came out to help us with the kids while we moved, it was such a blessing. I was also able to take a girls trip to Vegas while she was here.  My mom, me, Kim, Jenny, Sam, Jamie, and Rena all enjoyed lots of delicious food, shopping, and pool time.  Unfortunately I did not take the camera and need to figure out how to download photos from my phone onto the blog, then I'll be all set!

Baseball Fever

A few weeks ago we were able to go downtown to Petco Park with Papa James to watch the Padres play.  Let's be honest, it's not much ball watching when you have two little rascals, but it sure is fun.
We like to sit in outfield near the sand pit so the kids can run free.

...And here he goes, running free.

Can you tell it was getting late and he was getting tired?

Nice pose guys!

Luke likes to sit on Wyatt's lap and usually Wyatt likes it.

Busy Around the Neighborhood

We have been getting ready to move next month and trying to enjoy this home and neighborhood as much as we can before we leave.
Kevin caught this hummingbird resting on a ball outside in our backyard.  I'll miss our backyard, we have so many hummingbirds visit the honeysuckle.  The new backyard is pretty awesome too and I might need to plant a pollenator section of flowers so we can continue to see these cool little guys.

This little guy is about to turn 14 months, he is a happy little man almost all the time.  Kevin said, "if Luke is sad, there is something really wrong", it's so true.  He is REALLY busy, doesn't like to stay in one place for more than a second and usually carries a toy around in his mouth.  He likes to wrestle with Wyatt most of the day until one of them gets hurt, he never took a pacifier, but if he has his "wubba", blankie, he will start to suck his thumb, I find it adorable.  He still takes two naps a day and is a really great sleeper.  He loves to be outside and every chance he gets he makes a bee line for the door.  We love you Lukie!

This year for Mother's Day it was a big surprise, Kevin got me breakfast in bed!  No, he didn't make it, but he did run to the restaurant up the road and brought home the most delicious french toast.  The boys got me a cute card and I was so excited when I opened my gift from Kev, a fancy Le Creuset cast iron pot, something I've always wanted and as a bonus small matching cocottes, time to do some serious cooking.

I took the boys over to SeaWorld, they love the underground tank, I love it too, it's kind of hidden and usually there are hardly any people around.

Wyatt loves the bounce zone there too, he really gets into it.  He is incredibly athletic and usually in there wrestling with much bigger kids.

Showing some Shamu love.  He asked me, "Mom is that the real whale?"  So cute.

Our neighborhood had a little party called Spring Fest, of course we hit the inflatables.

Scaling Mt. Everest.

Waiting with a friend for the parade to start.  Wyatt always needs to get himself some popcorn.  Notice Luke strapped into the stroller wanting to jump out, can't let him loose for a second.

Here is a funny video of Wyatt that cracks us up.  He loves for Kevin and I to go cross-eyed, he also loves to try and go cross-eyed himself.  This is what is looks like.

Daddy and Me Time

I love it when Kevin decides he's going to work out and he gets down to do a few push-ups and the kids start the wrestling frenzy.  Luke is usually the first to climb up on his back, then of course, Wyatt has to join in.  Family exercise time.

Luke Walks!

He's really taking off now.

A Trip To Palm Springs

While Mimi and Tia were visiting we decided to take a trip to Palm Springs.  They have a timeshare and we were able to trade it in for a place there.  We have done this before with them, but never stayed at the place that we did, we loved this new place, it felt much more like a home, than a hotel.  The place was called IntervalWest Palm Desert.  We went up without Kevin from Tuesday through Friday, because he was in Chicago for work.  He joined us on the morning of Friday the 12th, his birthday.  Mimi, Tia, and the kids stayed and played until the kids were ready to crash for naps.  Then they took the kids home and we had the place all to ourselves for the weekend, what a great birthday treat!
Enjoying a snack from the outdoor eating area.

Luke's first popsicle, he loved it!

There were some crazy flying insects there and Wyatt would find dead ones on the grounds and in the pool, so of course, being the boy that he is, he started a bug collection.

The bee and the "big, huge, giant, fly" fight regularly.  He enjoying "flying them around" and crashing into each other, usually the fly wins.

The Desert Springs Marriott hotel was across the street, so we'd make daily trips over there to explore, they have some wonderful tropical birds in the lobby.  One night we ran into the keeper and he showed Wyatt where his favorite parrot, Cowboy, sleeps, he also gave him one of his feathers.  That is a face of pure joy, he loves that feather.

Yay, Daddy's here!

Some guy was leaving and gave us his pool floats, the boys loved them.

Daddy's birthday cake.

" More for me Daddy, I really like carrot cake."

We visited the zoo one day, more than the animals, they liked the electric trains.

"It's hot Mom, take me home!"

This place had an outdoor shower, it was so fun, and by the way liberating.

After the kids left we went bowling for Kevin's birthday.  Look at that turkey he got.  He smoked me!

Disco Bowl

Birthday dinner, my baby loves his Mexican.

Saturday morning we decided to go ride some ATVs.  The place we went was awesome, at any moment I thought we might be abducted and forced to live in the underground bunkers probably built for A bomb testing.  Here's our first stop on the very unofficial safety instructions, "here stay in here and watch this video".  Once the video was over we wandered out and there was a guy inside a cargo container handing out helmets, we got our helmet, signed a release, and were off to ride.  My kind of operation.

Getting ready to roll.

Hanging out at the hotel one afternoon.

Our last night out, a view from our balcony.
