Day Camp

It's been awhile since I've posted so I have some catching up to do.  A few weeks ago we decided to do a day camp trip, where we act like we're going to camp, but head home before bed time.  So we got up to Mt. Laguna around ten in the morning and set up camp, this mean unloading the tent, pack n play, camp chairs, and all other necessary or unecessary equipment.  Then we had some lunch, played around a bit, and tried to go on a hike, which was excruciating because both Wyatt and Bella insisted upon being carried about 15 minutes into it.  Then we went back to camp to rest for awhile.  Luke chilled in his bouncer and Wyatt watched a movie on the ipad in the tent.  This was the most relaxing part of the trip, Kevin and I just sat around chit chatting for over an hour.  We then decided to take a ride up to a cute little town called Julian, about 20 minutes away, I thought it would be a great time for the kids to nap.  Both kids DID fall asleep!  Since it was 90 degrees out we wanted some icecream, just as Kevin was about to open up the store freezer to grab up some cones, the power went out in the whole town, so all the stores closed!  Bummer we headed back to our camp, mission accomplished on the quick naps though.  We got back and went for another walk, this time it was much cooler as a thunder storm was rolling in.  Wyatt rode his bike for a little while, then it was about 5pm and the thunder started getting louder and louder, poor little Wyatt was so scared.  We hurried and packed up getting ready to head out just in case it started pouring.  The rain never came, but we ended up leaving shortly after.  After all the work, and filthy kids, I have to say it was worth it, we really did have some great family time with no outside distractions.  We will definately do it again, minus Bella, she is the worst dog to take on adventures, I think we'd all be happier if she was at home lounging on the couch.

Wow that's a lot of stuff!

Cruising on the bike.

Wyatt loved the tent, I think him and Daddy need a sleepover in the backyard.

Our happy little camper.

Family photo, ya for timers.

Luke passed out for an afternoon nap.

Hanging out in Julian wishing for an icecream cone.

Watch out I'm going to run into you!

Me and the boys.
