Wyatt and Daddy Weekend

While Kelly was in Las Vegas hanging out with the girls, Wyatt and Daddy got to hang out and have some fun.  Some nice little photos from a cell phone camera.

I took Friday afternoon off and we headed over to SeaWorld which is always a good time.  We watched the dolphins for a long time.  I think a couple of them might have waived back at Wyatt.

Wyatt's favorite food for the weekend was definitely meatballs, most of which ended up in his mouth, but a fair share on his face and hands.

The weather was gorgeous so we actually headed over to the beach in Coronado both Sat and Sun.

The water is still very cold but he had fun walking right to the edge and then scooting back if a wave got too close.

He had fun playing with someone else's sand castle after they left.  Okay, he pretty much tore it down.

An extra bonus was that one of the Navy Blue Angels jets was in town doing maneuvers with some other jets and they were flying right over our head as they came in to land at North Island NAB.  Wyatt and I absolutely loved the awesome show.

On Sun morning we decided to walk across the I-163 bridge to see the people running the Rock n Roll marathon down below.  I told Wyatt I was thinking about running it sometime in the next 5 years, maybe for my 40th birthday (40, really?).  Hopefully he is too young to remember that.

The roads were closed going into Balboa Park due to the marathon so I had to snap a photo when it was so empty.

We finished up our Sunday adventure at Spanish Landing park and Harbor Island.  Don't worry, he was only on this crazy little jungle gym long enough to catch a photo with the water and the paddleboarders behind him.

Harbor Island is such a nice walk along the bay, with the city in the background and lots of different boats going by, including this beautiful sailboat.  Hey Wyatt, remind me you to tell you about my brief, unimpressive, yet comedic few weeks when I was on a sailing team in San Diego.  Thanks for the great weekend Wyatt.

Sick Baby

Our little man came down with the croup. I took him into the doctor today and she gave him a steroid to help with his breathing. She said he should feel better within a week. I am so sad, I think this is his first real illness. I hope he gets better soon. :(

Vegas With The Girls

My mom, Kim, and I went to Vegas this past weekend to have some girl time and some Sammy and Reese time.  I was so excited to meet the new little one.  First we started Friday afternoon with a day at the pool.  Andy and Sammy joined us for some fun.
Sammy is a big pina colda fan!

Just relaxing poolside.

After spending the afternoon with Sammy at the pool, we headed over to see baby Reese.  She is adorable, here she is snuggled with Auntie Kim.

That night Jamie, Kim, me, and Mom all went to Lucille's for delicious BBQ.  We left with way too many leftovers, I'm sure Andy was happy.

Saturday morning we got up early and had a spa treatment.  We enjoyed massages, the jacuzzi, and the eucalyptus steam room.  After we headed out for more pool time, Andy and Sammy came by for a little while again too.  Then we got ready for the night and Kim and I hit the casino.  I gambled $20 on a slot and won $10, so I decided to take my $30 and head over to the roulette wheel and put it all on red.  Jackpot, red it is, and I walk away with a profit of $40.  Yes, my gambling for the trip is done!  Kim decided later to do the same move I did, she won a little more on the slots, then took her $30 and put it all on red, she hit too.  Man we were on fire.

We met up with my mom at a little Italian joint in the casino for dinner and after that we went to the Luxor to see Carrot Top, we all laughed hysterically, it was a great show.

On Sunday we packed up and were headed out for some shopping.  But before we left we had to each put a dollar in the big slot, no one won, boo hoo, but it looks like Mom still had fun.  I got some great birthday loot.  My mom bought me a rose gold plated watch and a skirt and shorts and Kim got me a wallet.  Thanks guys, I love them.

Then we went over to see the girls again before we all had to head back home.  Here I am with sweet baby Reese.  I'll miss you little lady.

New Sheets, New Fun

I bought Wyatt a couple of new sheets.  I soon discovered it was a bad idea to wait for nap time for him to see them for the first time.  Since he was first born he has only had white sheets, as you can see from the picture, the new sheets have dogs and cars.  Apparently this is awesome and he can't be bothered to nap when laying on these.  The first time I laid him down, he got so excited and started pointing at the cars saying "vroom vroom" and the dogs saying "woof".  He is hilarious.

Palm Springs For Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to head to Palm Springs for Memorial Day weekend.  Several of our friends were going and we decided we couldn't pass up the fun.  First stop... to hangout with the Balsamo's at their hotel pool.

Michael, Dani, Wyatt, and Me

Kevin, Wyatt, Ed, and Michael

Wyatt loves the water and he loves this little ball, which he got from the dentist after his surgery.  He must be very proud of himself.  Look how cool I am with my ball and my new front tooth!

After we spent the morning and early afternoon at the Balsamo's pool, we headed over to a house that the Geisen's and Besty and Jason rented.  Here are the girls hanging out in the backyard.

The couples had brought their three dogs, Wyatt was in heaven.  A backyard and dogs...what more could a little boy ask for!  Oh a bocce ball, now that's perfection.

Kevin modeling a pose after Grant.  Grant was seriously on the grass sitting like this, Kevin had to run behind him and strike a pose.  Hilarious.

After a fun filled day of lounging poolside, we headed to our hotel to check in and get ready for dinner with everyone.  We ate at this delicious little dive called Shanghai Reds, they had yummy fish tacos.  By then Wyatt was ready to call it and we took him back to the hotel for bed.

The next morning we were ready to do it all again.  Wyatt and Daddy at our hotel pool.

After we checked out of our hotel and had lunch, we headed back to the house for more hanging out and swimming.  If you can't tell, the water was a little cold.

EXHAUSTED!
That afternoon we headed home.  If you know Wyatt at all, you know he doesn't sleep in the car.  This trip really wore him out and right when we got in the car to go home, he passed out!

Wyatt's Starting To Talk

Just a quick note:  For awhile now we've been wondering when Wyatt would start to say more than just "dada".  Well now he says "momma" pretty good, "duck", and just in the past few days has said "lella" for Bella and "zeus" for juice.  He always says a lot of animal sounds like "woof" when he sees a dog and "roar" for pretty much any other animal!  And of course he hasn't stopped his signing, his favorites are milk, more, and all done.

One More Saturday

Kevin took Wyatt on a long walk this past Saturday so I could sleep in.  Isn't he a great husband and daddy?
They headed over to the suspension bridge that we discovered a few weeks ago.

After we went to play tennis.  Kevin got us some tennis rackets and we haven't been able to use them in months, finally we made it to the courts!  Here I am trying to get Wyatt's sweatshirt off.  As you can tell he hates being dressed and undressed lately, and by hates, I mean he screams and throws a fit.  When did this start?  I hope it's not the terrible twos already.  Sometimes I think it's because one, he loves being naked, so he doesn't want to be dressed, and two, when he does have clothes on, he doesn't want to be slowed down so that we can take them off.

Later that afternoon we met our friends Jamie, Justin, and their baby Geneva at this awesome bar and grill called The Station, it has a sand pit area for kids to play in while you eat.

Did I mention how much he LOVES trucks.

Look how happy he is after playtime, some tater tots and a turkey burger.  What a nice Saturday!
