Life During Luke's First Five Weeks

I can't believe Luke is already five weeks old.  Time really does fly, especially when the days and nights are blurred.  For the past couple of nights Luke and Wyatt have been going to bed at basically the same time, which is nice, it gives us a few hours of quiet before bedtime.  Luke still eats at least every couple of hours during the day, but for the past two nights he has gone four hour stretches.  Hopefully, as time goes on, the hours will lengthen.  I forget how tiring a newborn really is.
Luke's first bath at home.  He really seems to enjoy bathtime, he especially likes his hair washed, it puts him in a trance.

Wyatt taking a bath at the same age.

Wyatt has been doing a lot of searching for bugs in the yard, this snail was a huge find.

Kevin and Bella catching some sun while the boys napped.

I also had time with the help of Tia to set up a drip line for my garden, here is the before, things are getting a bit dry...more pictures to come of a lush drip-lined garden (hopefully).  By the way, my favorite this year are the peas, they are so delicious.

This little guy seems to have a scowl most of the day, even in his sleep.  Come on Luke are we that bad?

Bubble time...

More bubble time, with a death defying maneuver...

"What up, you like my bubbles?"

Poor Luke is a little unphotogenic right now.  Here he is trying too hard to focus on Kevin.

A similar face from Wyatt, more surprise, less scowl.

Lots of wrestling with Mimi.

Mimi and Tia hiking with Wyatt at the dam.

My friend Mike and his family came to San Diego to visit with us.  Here are Regan and Wyatt playing in the pit together, they got along ok.

Mike, Rocky, Regan, Wyatt, me, Monica, and Joel just enjoying some sun.

More bubbles.  Can you tell he loves them?  This was an extra special day because the sprinkler was on as well.

Every once in awhile Wyatt will ask to hold Luke, he seems to really enjoy him now and keeps saying that he is "funny".  Why, who knows?

It was warm enough to get the dragon pool going today.  Life with a newborn makes you really test your patience and your toddlers!  Wyatt was so patient today we started blowing up the pool at 10 this morning, honestly it did not get finished until 4!  I even had a air pump.  I just kept getting interrupted, then we took a break for lunch, then nap, then finally back to blowing it up.  Well it was worth it, because he loves it.

Luke likes his tummy time, especailly with the snail, Wyatt loved this toy too.

Tummy time with Wyatt at 5 weeks.

He is already getting too big, where did his tiny feet go?

Brother tummy time.

  1. Those boys still look alike. You guys have been busy! I'm jealous of Mimi & Tia. They look like they are having so much fun with the boys.
